Cardiff clinched a play-off berth thanks to second-half goals from Leo Fortune-West and Scott Young, which ensured victory over Notts County.

Both goals were created by the impressive Graham Kavanagh, with Fortune-West flicking home in the 52nd minute before Young headed the winner 12 minutes from time.

County had threatened to spoil the play-off party by taking an 11th-minute lead through Richard Liburd.

But the Bluebirds were impressive on the break and deserved to win a thoroughly entertaining game.

Robert Earnshaw, who had just returned from an injury lay-off, had an eventful game and should have finished with his name on the scoresheet.

In the first half he blasted a superb shot against the crossbar before it was safely gathered by the County goalkeeper. He also threatened in the second period, but could only fire high and wide when well-placed in front of goal.
