Chairman Sam Hammam has called for patience from the Cardiff fans as The Bluebirds hold fire before splashing out in the transfer market

This weekend will see a number of players coming to the end of their contracts and with Lennie Lawrence also set to return from holiday, Hammam believes a few additions are not far away.

"I will be more aggressive on squad strengthening. There are a lot of players I could get, but we are waiting and I would ask for patience," Hammam told the South Wales Echo.

Lawrence is keen to add to his midfield and defence while a new goalkeeper is also a priority for The Bluebirds boss, who will be hoping to go one better than last season when Cardiff were beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Stoke.
