Cardiff City striker Peter Thorne is facing a three-month lay-off because of an ankle injury suffered in the 3-1 win over Brentford on Tuesday.
Thorne only returned to action on Saturday after a five-week absence with a hamstring injury.
He damaged his ankle ligaments minutes after scoring City's opening goal against Brentford.
The club said on Thursday that Thorne's ankle will be in plaster for the next two weeks.
"I don't know if the lad caught me," Thorne said after Tuesday's match.
"But I seemed to go over on my ankle as I landed and I knew straight away I had done something.
"It is so frustrating for me."
Thorne has made eight appearances, plus one as a substitute, since his £1.7m move from Stoke.
